The people behind the raccoon
Competitive shooter (USPSA/IDPA) based in New Braunfels, TX. By day, a project manager at a real estate development company. By night, the guy who got tired of doing ammo price math in his head and decided to build a better way.
AmmoRaccoon was built entirely during evening hours — 7pm to midnight, Monday through Saturday, all day Sunday. It started as a spreadsheet, turned into a scraper, and eventually became the tool you're using right now. No venture capital, no team of engineers. Just a shooter with a problem and enough stubbornness to solve it.
Every feature on this site came from a real frustration. The "I'm Buying" calculator exists because I once bought 10 boxes of 50 rounds when I could have bought 2 boxes of 250 for less money. The price history charts exist because I wanted to know if 9mm was actually cheap right now or if I was just convincing myself it was.
We don't have investors telling us to maximize engagement or push certain retailers. We have a community of shooters who deserve honest tools. That's the only metric that matters here.
